I used to get feature history of models, which are done in different CAD software from SolidWoks feature recognition wizard. That simply import the STEP file and software do the rest. But I have important step file that I import in general way, however it doesn't ask "do you want to run feature recognition wizard"

Strange, does anyone come across, that some step model will not work? how to resole that I want to modify the step

Does anyone come a cross this kind of situation?

That kind of situation, what I did was, import the STEP file to SolidWorks and save as parasolid 3d model format.

Then again, once I re import the parasolid model file to solidworks, lucky it's always ask feature recognition wizard to follow. Try it to converting to parasolid.
