Which method for backing up PolyWorks files would you recommend to me? At the moment am just holding them on the server which can be clucky at times.
ReportLoop is out of question since i don't have a good budget for that.

I suggest you try out Veeam, it is a great backup solution that i have ever used. It has the option for for configuring the backup repository on cloud services like Azure or AWS. You can also use direct storage through shared folders on your network or even use tape drives.
Plus it is easy to implement, just install and configure the backup and replication console in easy steps.
