Am making the giant leap, from BricsCAD to AutoCAD, but i cannot find some functionalities on AutoCAD that were quite obvious on BricsCAD. I can handle the 3D face, but how can i fix the UCS to the plain and work outside the confines of the face?

Hi bro, try this:

While in xray mode, or realistic view, type UCS, FACE on the commandline. Then select face of the object. It it doesn't work for you, try just drawing a line on the face followed by typing LS (for command properties list) and go to the angle from XY plane.

Next, rotate the UCS about axis until it aligns. You can still do this from UCS on commandline.

best of luck
